i'm an RA.

Being an RA is a little like suddenly acquiring 30-some children. You worry about them - wonder if they're getting enough sleep or if they're doing their homework, or if they're taking care of themselves. I tell them to be careful when they're going out for the night, I make them tea when they're sick, I hear every little noise at night, and I can tell who's coming down the hall just by hearing a laugh.

This is undoubtedly the hardest job I've ever had, but it's also the most rewarding. It took me an entire semester to earn their trust and friendship, and now I love these girls. At first, I was ready to have them put up with me because they had to. Never did I imagine that I would feel such attachment to them.

They're all beautiful, hilarious, dedicated young women. They love each other and they protect each other and I have never seen anything like it in my entire life. Even if I don't get to be their RA again next year, I'm so grateful to have been lucky enough to get to witness something like this during college.

It's worth all the unrelated crap from last semester. They're amazing.
